Les Lauriers de la Gastronomie Québécoise is an annual celebration aimed at recognizing and rewarding the best artisans in Quebec’s culinary and cultural industries. 17 categories are awarded in the form of official statuettes and the 2021
Lauriers Awards will take place this spring. The date and precise form of the mostly virtual event remain to be confirmed in the coming weeks depending on public health guidelines.
The official LAURIERS BRIGADE is made up of members from each area of Quebec’s vast gastronomy industry, including artisans in production, processing, food distribution, catering, restaurants and all related sectors – (media, tourism, etc.), excluding the retail industry. The BRIGADE is responsible for the nominations, and to a certain extent, the selection of the laureates (winners!) of the LAURIERS awards.
The brigade is open to all professionals in the Quebec gastronomy industry. Quebec gastronomy is defined as encompassing all matters related to the chain of food production, processing, distribution as well as activities and/or products showcased in local restaurants and related trades.
Every year, an official jury composed of six to seven jurors will be appointed by Les LAURIERS. Each member of the jury is a recognized professional whose presence on said jury makes their restaurant/product ineligible for consideration.
The LAURIERS commissioned the external research firm MBA Recherche to carry out the analysis of the selection process results.
